2 shirts from Butterick/Unique B4609 are started:

I made up a toile of the custom pattern. It fits great from the bust down (I didn't have to do an FBA! Yay!), but there are issues:
The armholes are too low
The upper back is too long
The shoulders aren't wide enough
The shoulder seam is wayyyy back on my shoulder

I altered the Unique pattern to correct (I hope) the above issues, but they are basic fitting concerns and I will be sending Unique an email with pictures and I expect that they'll re-draft. I can compare the re-draft with my altered pattern. I went ahead and did the alterations for practice in altering and for sewing practice.

I need to make a toile for McCalls/Unique M4930 to see if it has the same issues.

Cozy Purple Pop of Color

Cozy purple throws for snuggling!  Adds some color  to the living room.  Thick fleece trimmed straight with rounded corners.  I tried some overcast stitches with my Juki however I couldn't get the look I wanted so I pulled out my serger. Gosh it's been, like 2 years since I used it but luckily it worked (I've had it for quite awhile but I'm still kinda afraid of it 😜).

Crafty Stirrings

My sewing stuff has been packed up for quite awhile and I miss it! It was packed up to make room for a season of extended visits by family which we have truly enjoyed so it was a worthy trade-off. Family visits will be done in a few weeks and in the meantime we decided that we'll be moving into a different house a few weeks later, so my sewing and craft things (other than sewing-related stuff I have just a few jewelry-making and scrap-booking supplies) will remain packed until it's arranged in our new abode. Focusing on family and transition decisions has taken up my mental space so it's just now, as I begin creating the vision of our next home I'm looking forward to having a sewing space again.
