Blue Linen Jacket

The sloper's not dead, she's just restin'. The sloper has been laid aside temporarily whilst I attempt to sew something that actually fits. I've got my Unique Jacket partially cut out of some dark blue linen blend. This version will have no collar, no pockets and will be about 5" longer so as to cover my curvaceous booty. Me wearing my last version of this jacket, at my dd's wedding holding my neice.

It's lovely! Did you make your neice's dress? It looks like a perfect match.

Beth and Lori, thank you! As a matter of fact, I did make my neice's dress--out of silk noil, no less! Ah, well it was a special occasion. And she wore it the next week on Easter Sunday so she got 2 wearings out of it. The little sheer overskirt on her dress was made out of the lavender chiffon that draped the canopy at her mother's (my sister's) wedding, so it really is a special dress. And we stuck the sweetest little purple bow on her head, and sewed little matching fabric flowers on her sockies....oh, dear--long answer---but we had fun dressing that baby!

Crafty Stirrings

My sewing stuff has been packed up for quite awhile and I miss it! It was packed up to make room for a season of extended visits by family which we have truly enjoyed so it was a worthy trade-off. Family visits will be done in a few weeks and in the meantime we decided that we'll be moving into a different house a few weeks later, so my sewing and craft things (other than sewing-related stuff I have just a few jewelry-making and scrap-booking supplies) will remain packed until it's arranged in our new abode. Focusing on family and transition decisions has taken up my mental space so it's just now, as I begin creating the vision of our next home I'm looking forward to having a sewing space again.

Cozy Purple Pop of Color

Cozy purple throws for snuggling!  Adds some color  to the living room.  Thick fleece trimmed straight with rounded corners.  I tried some overcast stitches with my Juki however I couldn't get the look I wanted so I pulled out my serger. Gosh it's been, like 2 years since I used it but luckily it worked (I've had it for quite awhile but I'm still kinda afraid of it 😜).
