Wardrobe Planning

Today I'm wearing the Unique jacket I made to wear at dd2's wedding. It fits very well. All it needs is a forward shoulder adjustment. I believe I will make another using the grey/white/pink synthetic tweed that I bought for another jacket. If it turns out I'll use it as the starting piece of my first SWAP (Sewing With a Plan).

Because of yesterday's frustration regarding semi-fitted shirts I designed & printed a basic v-neck front button waist-darted shirt using Wild Ginger's Click & Sew. I haven't used the Click & Sew in a long time, but I'm willing to try it again--seems to me the shirts I made with it fit pretty well. I can't afford any more Unique patterns right now and I am tired of altering pattern tissue!

Cozy Purple Pop of Color

Cozy purple throws for snuggling!  Adds some color  to the living room.  Thick fleece trimmed straight with rounded corners.  I tried some overcast stitches with my Juki however I couldn't get the look I wanted so I pulled out my serger. Gosh it's been, like 2 years since I used it but luckily it worked (I've had it for quite awhile but I'm still kinda afraid of it 😜).

Crafty Stirrings

My sewing stuff has been packed up for quite awhile and I miss it! It was packed up to make room for a season of extended visits by family which we have truly enjoyed so it was a worthy trade-off. Family visits will be done in a few weeks and in the meantime we decided that we'll be moving into a different house a few weeks later, so my sewing and craft things (other than sewing-related stuff I have just a few jewelry-making and scrap-booking supplies) will remain packed until it's arranged in our new abode. Focusing on family and transition decisions has taken up my mental space so it's just now, as I begin creating the vision of our next home I'm looking forward to having a sewing space again.
