Birthday Fun and a Completed Shirt

Darren celebrated his birthday at home, at Benihana's of Tokyo in San Francisco and at the San Francisco Zoo. His presents were time with family and friends, and tickets to an Eagles' concert. Here are pictures to make you feel like you were there: Happy 44th Birthday Darren

On the sewing front, the work shirt is finished and I'm on to a coupla muslins of shirts for me. I have some stretch poplin florals on the way and I want to re-fit the Petite Plus shapely shirt. I'm so tired of putting on shirts that hang down the back of my neck and that won't close at the hips.

Lastly, a t-shirt for the pregnant daughter will be started as soon as I can corral her for some measurements and a pattern fitting.

Crafty Stirrings

My sewing stuff has been packed up for quite awhile and I miss it! It was packed up to make room for a season of extended visits by family which we have truly enjoyed so it was a worthy trade-off. Family visits will be done in a few weeks and in the meantime we decided that we'll be moving into a different house a few weeks later, so my sewing and craft things (other than sewing-related stuff I have just a few jewelry-making and scrap-booking supplies) will remain packed until it's arranged in our new abode. Focusing on family and transition decisions has taken up my mental space so it's just now, as I begin creating the vision of our next home I'm looking forward to having a sewing space again.

Cozy Purple Pop of Color

Cozy purple throws for snuggling!  Adds some color  to the living room.  Thick fleece trimmed straight with rounded corners.  I tried some overcast stitches with my Juki however I couldn't get the look I wanted so I pulled out my serger. Gosh it's been, like 2 years since I used it but luckily it worked (I've had it for quite awhile but I'm still kinda afraid of it 😜).
