Progress Report

Add these to the in-process projects:
  • Stretch & Sew 1745, work shirt for Darren. Cut out of 100% cotton burgundy knit. Contrasting green placket interfaced. I removed the length I had added in the upper chest area because the shirts I made that way indicated that the additional room isn't needed. I think this one will fit better in the arms. Also, this time I'm going to try making a contrasting collar to match the placket. I've used purchased collars in the past and I frankly didn't want to spend the money this time.
  • Vogue 7281 Long sleeve view. Muslin cut; final fashion fabric to be a reddish-rose linen look material. Need some special buttons for this.
  • Vogue 7976 shorter jacket. Muslin cut; final fashion fabric to be a gray/pink/white boucle tweed with white lining. (I wanted pink lining, but they were out and I had to catch the 50% sale while the catching was good)

The lavender knit shirt from Unique is finished. I guess it fits okay; that is, the bust, back, neckline, waist and hips fit okay, but the armholes are too low and the sleeves were too long. Re the sleeves, for what I paid they should be perfect. And those shoulder seams have got to angle forward, 'cause I've got that slippage down the back thing going on. I think the armhole fit is a design issue, based on the pattern drawing.

I got my Palm Tungsten E pda! Woo hoo! I love it, love it, love it! I'm going to go play with it now.

Blogspot has just launched Blogger Images to make it easy to include images in our posts. I shall test this by uploading an image of my niece: It works! Wahoo! In the olden times (last week) we Blogspotters had to use Hello from Picasa, which is a free picture instant-messaging software that worked well for me at home, but I couldn't get it running at work (maybe it was God telling me to get off the blog and do my job). Goodbye Hello , and hello Blogger Images . Thanks, Blogger !

Cozy Purple Pop of Color

Cozy purple throws for snuggling!  Adds some color  to the living room.  Thick fleece trimmed straight with rounded corners.  I tried some overcast stitches with my Juki however I couldn't get the look I wanted so I pulled out my serger. Gosh it's been, like 2 years since I used it but luckily it worked (I've had it for quite awhile but I'm still kinda afraid of it 😜).
