Cross That Off The List

Lots of to-dos were crossed off the list today. Dh and dd worked hard on moving her furniture to the apartment, and she helped to ready the house for visitors. The baby's dress is finished. The bridesmaid's wraps were finished. Making the wraps (mere rectangles of white chiffon edged with a picot stitch on the serger) was the only sewing-related wedding project that actually went as easy and fast as I thought it would). The slideshow is finished and several copies have been burned to CD. All in all, I'm about where I hoped to be now. Mom, sis and the baby arrive tomorrow night! Whee!

Sock Monkey Tutorial

Still got sock-monkeys on my mind. I found a step-by-step picture tutorial to make them. I would embroider the eyes so they'd be safe for the little ones.

Blogspot has just launched Blogger Images to make it easy to include images in our posts. I shall test this by uploading an image of my niece: It works! Wahoo! In the olden times (last week) we Blogspotters had to use Hello from Picasa, which is a free picture instant-messaging software that worked well for me at home, but I couldn't get it running at work (maybe it was God telling me to get off the blog and do my job). Goodbye Hello , and hello Blogger Images . Thanks, Blogger !

You Were Born in California and Have Never Been to Yosemite?

Until 2 days ago, I would have had to answer, "Nope, never been there." But now I can proudly say, "I have been to Yosemite. I have seen the highest waterfall in the United States, El Capitan, and Half Dome." We joined my brother Bobby and sister-in-law Dee Dee, along with nephew Jeremy, neice Sierra and her hubby Josiah and their little girls Havilah and Gigi for a whirlwind of a weekend that managed to be both exciting and relaxing. On Saturday Bobby & Dee Dee took us on a one-day tour of Yosemite (more pics in the Gallery ). The scenery was tremendous. If there's this much natural beauty just 4 hours from where I live, what wonders must heaven hold? I really enjoyed seeing the families from all over the world. Saturday night Darren & I saw the Eagles at Calaveras County fairgrounds. Great concert. Sunday we kicked back. We did not get enough of Yosemite though and may return this winter.
