Print Fabric Possibility

Print fabrics are hard for me. I'm afraid they look busy and accenuate curves that are plenty accentuated without any extra help. But since my wardrobe plan calls for a print I've been looking around and I found this one at Vogue Fabrics. It has black, gray, charcoal, pink and purple. I could sure work with it. It's priced right, too--56" wide @ $6.99/yd.

Tamtay,

I loved that print! Wanted some myself but I am trying not to invite so many beautiful pieces home with me! Trying to use some of the beautiful pieces that already reside here. But that is a really nice piece, did you buy it?

Tamtay, I have this same fabric I purchased from Vogue Fabrics. I purchased some Tussah Silk Fabric that was swatched with it. I made it into a jacket. I have yet to make up the lovely floral fabric. I am not sure what I want it to be but I really love it. Please show what you make with it.

My sewing stuff has been packed up for quite awhile and I miss it! It was packed up to make room for a season of extended visits by family which we have truly enjoyed so it was a worthy trade-off. Family visits will be done in a few weeks and in the meantime we decided that we'll be moving into a different house a few weeks later, so my sewing and craft things (other than sewing-related stuff I have just a few jewelry-making and scrap-booking supplies) will remain packed until it's arranged in our new abode. Focusing on family and transition decisions has taken up my mental space so it's just now, as I begin creating the vision of our next home I'm looking forward to having a sewing space again.

You Were Born in California and Have Never Been to Yosemite?

Until 2 days ago, I would have had to answer, "Nope, never been there." But now I can proudly say, "I have been to Yosemite. I have seen the highest waterfall in the United States, El Capitan, and Half Dome." We joined my brother Bobby and sister-in-law Dee Dee, along with nephew Jeremy, neice Sierra and her hubby Josiah and their little girls Havilah and Gigi for a whirlwind of a weekend that managed to be both exciting and relaxing. On Saturday Bobby & Dee Dee took us on a one-day tour of Yosemite (more pics in the Gallery ). The scenery was tremendous. If there's this much natural beauty just 4 hours from where I live, what wonders must heaven hold? I really enjoyed seeing the families from all over the world. Saturday night Darren & I saw the Eagles at Calaveras County fairgrounds. Great concert. Sunday we kicked back. We did not get enough of Yosemite though and may return this winter.
